No-Cook Play Dough Recipe

The recipe I was hoping to post today needs a bit of adjusting, so I’ve decided to post my favourite play dough recipe instead! I use this recipe which is, by far, the easiest play dough recipe I’ve used.Β You just mix it up, and you’re ready to go! No cooking required!

  • 255g (2 cups) flour
  • 2 tablespoons of oil (any oil is fine)
  • 65g (1/2 cup) of salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 355ml (1.5 cups) boiling water
  • gel food colouring (optional)
  • peppermint (or other) extract (optional)

Instructions

1

mix all dry ingredients together

2

add boiling water, oil (and peppermint extract if using), and stir until it forms a ball

3

once the dough has cooled, separate into two (or more) sections to add colouring

4

make a small well in your play dough to drip the food colouring into and mix colouring in as best you can with a fork (otherwise you may stain your hands!)

5

use your hands to knead the rest of the colouring into the dough

6

store in an airtight container
