Easy Cinnamon Rolls

The lovely Vicki wrote me a while ago with a link to her gorgeous baking and travel blog. Since I am not a baker (that is more my husband’s thing), I am always impressed with people who do. Vicki is definitely one of those people! Her blog is filled with delights such as “Cardamom, Strawberry, and Apple Mini Pies”, “Earl Grey Tea Cake”, and “Blueberry and Lime Baked Cheesecake”. I would love to tuck into any of those right this very moment!

All of this is to say that I am so happy to be able to welcome Vicki as a new contributor to the blog! She is starting with a bang by sharing her recipe for easy cinnamon rolls. Thank you Vicki! We can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

I’ve been on a quest recently to use up the last of the fast-reaching-its-use-by-date yeast I have in the house. So far, it has been a delicious road to travel down, one filled with freshly baked bread every few days. In the last two weeks alone I’ve baked a chocolate babka, two different challah loaves, mini challah breads, and three batches of these cinnamon rolls. And who doesn’t love a good excuse to make cinnamon rolls? My boyfriend and I have affectionately nicknamed my yeast-fueled love affair ‘The Dough Diaries’. Continue Reading…

Friends with Recipes: Czech Goulash

I think of of my friend Nomi as the quintessential homemaker: her house is lovingly decorated, her kids impeccably dressed, her life organised, and her recipes delicious. Nomi has shared some recipes with us before on my Friends with Recipes series, and I am happy to say that she is back sharing this yummy recipe for Czech Goulash. I am excited to try this one in particular as my Grandpa Pete’s family was Czech!

Thank you, Nomi!

Friends with Recipes: Indian Squash Curry

I have known Kim since our kids started at the same school together in 2013. She is perhaps the most genuinely happy person I’ve ever met: her personality is contagiously bubbly and she is inspiringly optimistic. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about Kim, but this could get long . . . instead, you can see for yourselves how her creativity and genuine love of life shine through via her business called Bumble Box. These “family time kits” are meant to get families moving, learning, and crafting together. Each box is so well though out and creative and perfect for families who want to add some fun and variety to their play together! (It is also great for grandparents, babysitters, and holidays!) Kim has shared some lovely thoughts about cooking for her family, as well as one of their favourite weeknight meals below!

Enjoy!

Forgive me for not posting many of my own recipes recently. I have so many other things going on right now, and the first thing to go on the back burner is all the stuff I do for fun, like the blog! But have no fear, I have a massive backlog of recipes for you as well as some fun Friends with Recipes posts. This one comes from the lovely Lara who is another American in London. She blogs for Babyccino Kids and can be found Instagramming her gorgeous family here.

Friends with Recipes: Leeks and Greens with Coconut Milk

Recipe for Leeks and Greens with Coconut Milk

Vanessa and I have been friends on Instagram for years, but only finally managed to meet up for a coffee a few weeks ago here in London (she now lives in Scotland!). Vanessa loves cooking for and with her kids (her Instagram feed is full of all sorts of yummy things!) so she was an obvious one to ask for a recipe for my “Friends with Recipes” series.

Vanessa is sharing a healthy and delicious side dish that she and her family return to over and over again. It is a versatile side dish that will transform a simple piece of fish (or meat, shellfish, etc.) into a proper dinner.

Friends with Recipes: Cod, Chorizo & Chickpea Stew

Friends with Recipes: Cod, Chorizo & Chickpea Stew

Welcome to our first edition of Friends with Recipes! My friend Sarah owns an absolutely gorgeous online children’s shop called Archie’s Boutique. In addition to being super stylish and uber cool, she is also a super sweet mama to two beautiful boys. Teatime at her house is always delicious, so I thought she would be perfect to start off our series! (That, and she was the one who made me start this blog in the first place, so it was easy to convince her to join in the fun.)

Here is Sarah’s favourite family dinner! I can’t wait to give it a try!
